We have almost all of our stations up and running now. Above is a glimpse of what we're doing.

We will begin homework this week. Your child will have one assignment per night Monday-Thursday AND will be asked to read one book per night. (You can read to your child OR your child can read to you until we begin sending home Take-Home Readers. At that point, your child will be bringing home books he should be able to read independently or with very little help.) Be sure your child does his homework assignment and reads nightly. After reading a book, you should sign his/her reading log each night. Then, initial your child's homework sheet on the appropriate day. If your child's homework sheet is signed, Mrs. Smith will put a check-mark on it. At the end of the week, if each day has a check on it your child will get a sticker for the week.

Also, when your child's reading log is full, your child will get a sticker and a starbuck and a new reading log. At the end of the year, you will receive all of your child's reading logs back.
