What: Kindergarten Community Helper Parade!

Take-Home Readers: Your child should now have a Take-Home Reader each night. Your child will have 2 books: one I have picked out for your child which he/she should be able to read independently and one they have picked out that may or may not be at their independent level. Most of the books I pick out for your child will not be made by the school but by Harcourt.

Zaxby's Night is tonight. Please come out between 5 and 8. A portion of all profits will be donated to the school.

Mystery Readers: We still have quite a few Fridays open if you or someone in your family (aunts, uncles, grandparents, siblings) would like to come read to our class.

PBIS Picnic Lunch: On Friday, October 22, students who have consistently exhibited STAR behavior will get to have a picnic lunch. Feel free to send a blanket or towel for your child and his/her friends to sit on (food and drinks may get spilled on it). This is a very fun way to reinforce positive behavior!

Community Helpers: This week we are focusing on Fire Safety and Prevention. Next week we will begin our unit on community helpers. We will have volunteers come out to our school and talk to us about Fire Safety and we may even get to check out the Smokehouse! Don't forget to make a model of a building within the community and start thinking about what you will be dressing up as for our Community Helper Parade on October 29th.

Chick-fil-A Competition Night will be on Tuesday, October 26 from 5-8 PM. This is the night that REALLY counts for us! The school who has the most participation will get their check DOUBLED. Please come out and be sure to tell them you are from Walhalla Elementary School!
